SPRING! This exciting season brings increased daylight, warmer temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna. It’s also a time when love is in the air. Wedding invitations will start to arrive soon, so Claudia Phillips, ETCETERA Area Manager, has taken care of the WHAT TO WEAR dilemma for every type of wedding from Formal to Beach, City Chic to Garden, and everything in between.
It’s such a privilege to witness the beginning of two people in love starting their life together. But Claudia and I say, it’s also a great reason to buy a new dress!
WHAT TO WEAR
White tie, black tie, black tie optional, semi-formal, casual? Dressing appropriately is a sign of respect for the bride and groom on their wedding day. Unless the bride specifically requests a black-and-white theme, do not wear white to a wedding. Give the bride her props, let her shine and be the focus of attention. Unless you know without doubt the bride is wearing white, steer clear of ivory, off-white, blush, or champagne. Remember, too, that a wedding is not an occasion to wear anything too skimpy or overtly provocative, nor is it a time for business attire. Even the Queen of the Pant Suit, Hillary Clinton, wears a dress to a wedding. Dress for fun, but keep it chic.
City Chic — dance the night away wear Etcetera’s Countess dress. This beautiful dress flatters almost every body shape. Black dresses used to conjure up thoughts of mourning, but a black cocktail dress to an evening wedding is perfectly acceptable. Just make sure the dress is fun and festive, reflective of the occasion.
Garden Wedding — a warm breeze and the fragrance of flowers create an inviting, intimate setting for a wedding. Select colors from nature’s color pallet. Wedges are the perfect choice for garden settings. You’ll look stylish without having to worry about your heels sinking into the turf.
ETCETERA takes the guesswork out of what to wear. The style consultants at Lots of Luxe will put you together so you’ll look fantastic. All you need to do is enjoy the wedding!
