Floral prints are a common Spring sight, and the ETCETERA Spring collection is definitely blooming.
Over and over again, flowers kept popping up on the runway during Fashion Week, from embroidery to abstracts and graphics.

The floral trend made its way into the Spring ETCETERA line in such a feminine and charming way they’re sure to catch your eye.

Take a look at these beautiful floral pieces up close:

Wardrobe Must Haves: Anorak and a Trench

February 5, 2018 Melrose Fisher Fashion, Trends

The trench coat is undoubtedly a classic and a staple piece for your wardrobe. This season Carlisle has added a few unexpected elements to the trench and anorak that you’ll adore.

VOYAGE Style #105528

Our first to highlight in this post is VOYAGE; it’s made of a polyblend water-resistant fabric; this is a true anorak so you can sinch it in at the neck and the waist. The detailing is lovely from the patch pockets with slash opening to the grosgrain ribbon trim. VOYAGE will get you into the office when paired with DUO and VIGNETTE. VIGNETTE is a solid bi-stretch cotton cropped pant with cute lace insets just above the hem.

Another look might be to pair VOYAGE with the DREA sweater and the black and white PLAID pant. This pant has a tiny light blue stripe and works beautifully with the cropped DREA sweater. The DREA has a touch of military inspiration, is sophisticated and an on-trend piece that will add flair to any look.

For a weekend athleisure look or even for travel pair VOYAGE with the COOPER blouse. COOPER is a classic menswear-inspired yet distinctly feminine silhouette. Look closely at the yoke of this blouse; it has zigzag stitching a signature detail that the Carlisle design team has brought into the spring collection

ANGELICA, a cotton blend topper, with beautiful cotton lace insets. These lace insets bring in the season’s transparent trend in a lovely way.

A most unique trench coat in this season’s collection is this exceptionally designed evening trench, BELLEFLOWER , created from beautiful transparent silk organza. You’ll find this style in the palest of blues and black. Of course, the one in blue is the perfect complement to the BELLEFLOWER dress. This dress is hand beaded, is sheer at the top, fitted through the body and waist, and has box-pleats on the skirt that add fullness. This dress is made in India, the beads are hand sewn, a special thread is used the in the hem to weight the garment, and a single dress takes 21 hours to manufacture. Incredible in the details!

The black version, ELIZA, is perfect over BLOOM. BLOOM has a similar fit to BELLEFLOWER with fullness in the skirt which makes it more of a party dress.

Although this transparent trench has been explicitly styled for a dress, it has so much potential for other outfits and can be worn more casually. For a fabulous dinner or special occasion outfit, layer CARI  a touchably-soft cashmere shell in a soft shade of Dark Voyage and CAPETOWN a wide leg crepe pant in a crisp shade of Moonstone underneath the BELLEFLOWER trench. Wear a column of black under ELIZA for a dramatic look or layer AJA for a pop of color.

Next up is the sweetest of all, TEATIME. Cutout embroidery details add a playful femininity to this chic cotton twill jacket in a soft shade of Petal

ORGANZA – We showed you this pretty in python, anorak in our Animal Instincts post. It has a feminine-meets-sporty style thanks to snake-printed silk organza.

Another featured piece in our Animal Instinct post is SAFARI. This piece updates the classic trench coat thanks to printed python leather trim.

EXPEDITION #405510
TRADER #205519

In the ETCETERA collection, you’ll find two anorak options. EXPEDITION – This sporty and relaxed, water-resistant anorak is a layering essential. The lower part of the jacket can be zipped off for a shorter look. TRADER is a water-repellent jacket that sports a bold metallic Pale Blue hue (perfect for all Carolina events).

Is it time to update your wardrobe with a new trench or anorak? Both are a wardrobe staple. We’ll help you style either with what you have in your closet or with new pieces from the Spring Collections.

Showing Carlisle Spring until February 12 and our ETCETERA show begins February 17.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

We’re Seeing Stripes Again!

January 29, 2018 Melrose Fisher Fashion, Trends

One of the biggest trends of late is stripes, and they show no sign of going away. If you do a little internet search, you’ll see that last year, the year before and the year before that there was much talk about the STRIPES Fashion Trend.
Stripes in fashion have a long history and they’re here to stay. Some are even saying “stripes should be considered the newest neutral in your closet!”

Things you should know when wearing stripes:
1. Try not to put horizontal stripes across larger parts of your body.
2. The wider the stripe, the wider and shorter that area of your body will appear.
3. The higher the contrast in color, the more dramatic the widening effect.
4. Minimize a stripe’s widening effect by mixing with a vertical design element (i.e. a long necklace)
5. When wearing two different stripes in the same outfit, be sure the size of the stripe is different in each piece.

The ETCETERA design team stays on trend this season, giving us those classic lines with a modern twist.
